Dika Chartoff @ The Midwest Clinic 2025
I’m a composer and pianist working across contemporary concert music, chamber music, and hybrid forms, with a background in film scoring. I’m currently exploring new relationships with wind and orchestral communities and am here primarily to listen, learn, and connect.
My recent work, Suspiro for bass clarinet and cello, was recorded by Grammy-nominated artists Tasha Warren and Dave Eggar for their upcoming album Motherload, to be released on Mother's Day 2026 alongside works by Norah Jones and Martha Redbone. Please e-mail me to preview the recording dikachartoff at gmail dot com.

Suspiro (2025)
for bass clarinet and cello
commissioned by Tasha Warren and Dave Eggar
Tasha Warren: "Dika transports us to another world in “Suspiro” - an “inner” world that embodies so much of what we express in a sigh- the yearning release of that which cannot be captured in words. The overtly expressive transitions between the resonant and spectral qualities of bass clarinet and cello offer a lushness intertwined with steely distance, dancing between a complex layering of emotion, spirit, holding on, letting go. I especially love this clever and thoughtful pairing of harmonics and techniques in both instruments - leading us to question what we are hearing- what an indescribable sound- quite literally a musical “sigh”."
